THE REAL TEXAS LIFE

When you choose to come to the Pica Ranch... you choose for rest and freedom. Every now and then you hear the howling of the coyotes. While staring over the rolling hills in your mind you go back to the 50ies. Cowboys, camp fires, rodeos, square dancing…
Welcome to Texas!

The Pica Ranch is situated near Hondo, at the foot of the so called Hill Country. A beautiful hilly area with great views. Nine months out of the year it is summer (with temperatures ranging between 68 and 100 degrees fahrenheit) and three month it is winter (with temperatures between 25 and 75 degrees fahrenheit). Within 2,5 hours you reach the Gulf of Mexico and it is only a 45 minute drive to downtown San Antonio with the River Walk and the famous Alamo. And not only that… there is much more!

It also is the longest barrier island in the world, is home to the endangered Kemp sea turtles, has great sand dunes and lots of pelicans. You can enjoy the warm gulf, the waves and many outdoor activities.
